Does a flush beat three of a kind in Texas Hold'em?

A flush has a higher ranking in poker than a three of a kind and would win in a game of Texas Hold'em. The odds of five cards of the same suit occurring is generally lower than three of a kind, so a flush holds a higher value.

The ranking of poker hands from high to low is straight flush, four of a kind, full house, flush, straight, three of a kind, two pair, one pair and high card. Texas Hold'em is a popular variation of poker, but the hand rankings are the same as in traditional draw or stud poker.
