What is the footprint on the Colorado Avalanche uniform?

The footprint at each shoulder of the Colorado Avalanche jersey represents that of an abominable snowman. The footprints were added to the team's uniforms in 1995 when it moved from Quebec.

Both the home and away jerseys are two-tone. The home red jersey features blue along the shoulders and the side of the torso, and the away white uniforms bear red at the same place. At the chest of each is the signature Avalanche logo, and player names and numbers are at the back. The team has an alternate blue jersey that features the word "Colorado" running diagonally downward on the front and trademark logos in place of the footprints.
