What is "freepost" in the UK?
By Forinfos - 06/05/2026 - 0 comments
Freepost is a type of mail delivery service in the United Kingdom where the postage due is paid for by the recipient as opposed to the sender. Using freepost requires the recipient to pay a small fee in addition to the postage required.
Businesses often use freepost to receive items from customers. Customers can use a preprinted envelope from the business or apply the freepost label themselves. Customers applying their own label require approval from the Royal Mail service. The Royal Mail also imposes strict guidelines for businesses, requiring a Royal Mail business response license and the use of specific bar codes in order to hold a freepost address.
