Is there a generic Restasis?

According to Drugs.com, a generic form of Restasis has not been made available in the United States as of 2014. The site warns consumers about the potential for illegitimate online pharmacies selling an illegal generic form of Restasis that may be either tainted or unsafe.

Drugs.com advises Restasis users to avoid letting the dropper touch anything as it may become contaminated and cause an eye infection. The use of Restasis should be discontinued in the event of an eye infection. Pregnant women should not use Restasis until discussed with their doctor because the potential for harm to unborn children from using the product is uncertain.
