Where is Cape Cod?

Cape Cod is located in southeastern Massachusetts. It extends 65 miles into the Atlantic Ocean. The cape is bounded by Cape Cod Bay to the north and west, Buzzards Bay to the west, and Vineyard and Nantucket Sounds to the south.

The Elizabeth Islands are southwest of Cape Cod, and Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket islands are to the south. The 15 towns of Cape Cod are located in Barnstable County. The cape is connected to the mainland by the Bourne and Sagamore bridges, as well as the Cape Cod Canal railroad bridge. Cape Cod is technically an artificial island as the result of the man-made Cape Cod Canal.
