On which continent is Peru located?

Peru is located on the continent of South America. It can be found in the western portion of the continent. Peru is bordered by the South Pacific Ocean to its west, Colombia and Ecuador to its north, Brazil to its east and Chile to its south.

The official name of Peru is the republic of Peru. It was one of the regions of South America colonized by Spain and it became an independent country in 1821. Peru's capital and largest city is Lima, as of 2015. The center of country is dominated by the Andes Mountains. Its eastern region features the Amazon Basin and it has a coastal plain along its western border.
