A godmother can wear a suit, dress, blouse with a skirt and matching accessories to a christening. She is allowed to wear anything as long as it is decent and comfortable.
The most commonly worn clothing for godmothers in christening ceremonies are dresses. Dresses should always reach the knees and must have sleeves. Knee-length skirts with matching blouses can make for an ideal outfit during the ceremony. Trousers can also be worn as long as they are not tight. Whatever clothing is settled on should not be too tight as to show cleavage or expose too much skin. Depending on the weather, a godmother may wear comfortable high heels, sandals or flats.
