Do goldendoodles shed?

Goldendoodles usually do not shed or shed very little. Since the goldendoodle is a crossbreed between a golden retriever and a poodle, the dog's fur takes on the non-shedding qualities of poodles.
As a crossbreed, the goldendoodle coat has characteristics of both the golden retriever and the poodle. Goldendoodles usually have light-colored to golden fur that is shaggy and fluffy or full of gentle curls. These dogs shed less than a purebred golden retriever or not at all. Goldendoodles are often marketed as hypoallergenic pets, but there is no proof that they are completely hypoallergenic. Still, a goldendoodle may be a good choice for someone with allergies, or who desires a fur-free household.
