Dandelions can be efficiently eradicated using natural methods like rooting. Rooting should be performed with a weed removal tool to ensure that remnants aren't left behind that can lead to additional growth. Pouring boiling water directly on top of the plants eliminates the need for chemicals.
Using 5 percent concentrated vinegar is another method that naturally and effectively kills dandelions. Vinegar can be applied directly on the plants and will not harm the underlying soil. Sprinkle corn gluten meal directly onto the lawn six weeks prior to weed germination periods to prevent dandelion growth and provide the grass with additional nutrients.
