What is a dandelion digger?

A dandelion digger is a tool designed to remove dandelions from the ground by removing their roots underground. Most hand-held dandelion diggers have a long shank with a V-shaped forked point for easily piercing the soil. Some places offer a long-handled version so that gardeners can avoid bending down.
A short-handled version might have a U-shaped tip, and some versions require a power drill to spin the shank and drive the puller into and out of the ground. If the dandelion taproot is cut and not completely removed, it will grow back, often spreading into multiple tops and making it harder to remove the second time.
