What is the legal age to move out in Colorado?

The legal age to move out in Colorado is 18. Rarely, minors may be allowed to move out earlier in a legal process called emancipation. As there is no specific cause of action for emancipation under Colorado law, it occurs only in conjunction with another legal action.
In Colorado, the age of majority is reached at 18. At this age, individuals are considered adults and become legally responsible for themselves. As adults, individuals are granted the right to enter most legal contracts, work without hour restrictions and make their own medical decisions. Individuals under the age of 21, however, are still considered legal minors in matters relating to alcohol purchase and consumption.
