The term "organic" in Grade B organic maple syrup indicates no pesticides or chemicals were used on the tree from which the maple syrup was tapped. Grade B refers to the color grading of the syrup.
Maple syrup is graded by color. Grade B is darker in color compared to Grade A maple syrup. Grade B maple syrup is made from the final stages of tapping the sap from the maple tree, while Grade A comes from the first sap of the tree. As of 2014, Grade B maple syrup has recently become popular, as it is a required ingredient of a popular cleansing diet beverage.
