What is the Grey Cup Championship?

The Grey Cup Championship is the final game of the Canadian Football League season. Whoever wins the game gains possession of the trophy that the event is named after and is named champion of the entire league.

The championship is played between the winners of the CFL's Western and Eastern Divisional Playoffs. The Grey Cup has been awarded since 1909, when the University of Toronto defeated the Parkdale Canoe Club. The 102nd Grey Cup championship occurred when the Calgary Stampeders defeated the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on November 30, 2014. As of 2015, the Toronto Argonauts have won 16 Grey Cups, the most of any Canadian football team.
