When does hair grow back after chemo treatments?
By Forinfos - 01/07/2025 - 0 comments
Depending on each individual patient and the type of chemotherapy drugs used, it may take several weeks after chemo before hair starts to grow back, according to the Mayo Clinic. When the hair does begin to grow again, it is often somewhat different than the patient's usual hair.
The newly grown hair may have a different color, texture or it might come in curlier than usual. According to the Mayo Clinic, the hair might be temporarily gray until the cells that create color in the hair begin to work once again. The Mayo Clinic encourages cancer patients to plan ahead for hair loss.
