By Forinfos - 10/07/2025 - 0 comments
The lifespan of a harpy eagle is approximately 25 to 35 years. Harpy eagles are one of the world's largest and strongest birds of prey.
These birds can grow to a length of up to 3 1/2 feet with a wingspan of up to 6 1/2 feet. Females are larger than the males and can reach weights of up to 20 pounds. With 4-inch long talons, harpy eagles are able to hunt relatively large prey, such as small mammals and reptiles. The range of harpy eagles once extended from Mexico down to the northern tip of Argentina. Now, due to deforestation and over-hunting, the harpy eagle population is dangerously threatened. They are mostly found in Panama, Columbia and Belize.
