Is a Havanese hypoallergenic?

Havanese are generally safe for those with allergies. The 6-to-8-inch coat catches hair as it becomes loose, so the allergy-inducing pieces stay locked in place.

Due to the non-shedding nature of this breed, the coat requires regular brushing 2 to 4 times per week to remove loose hairs and prevent tangles.These dogs are very playful, energetic and friendly, and have a long, soft coat. Despite this long coat, Havanese dogs' origins in the Mediterranean make it tolerant of higher temperatures and less tolerant of cold climates. Their lifespan is between 12 and 14 years, and some individuals experience health issues in their knees and eyes.
