The highest mountain in Europe is Mount Elbrus, located in Russia near the border with Georgia. There are two main peaks of Mount Elbrus at 18,442 feet and 18,510 feet. Both peaks are the tops of dormant volcanoes.
Due to its massive size, climbing Mount Elbrus is a long task. However, if climbing by the standard route, it is one of the easiest of the peaks on the continent to climb. Many climbers and skiers still die every year as they take unconventional routes. The mountain is a part of the Caucasus Mountain range, and it has the highest peak in the mountain range.
