What is Super Smash Bros. Crusade?

Super Smash Bros. Crusade is a gaming project for Windows platforms built by fans of the Super Smash Bros. video game franchise. The game is still in development mode as of 2016, but its creators seek to combine stages from different games and create playable characters from other video games.

The concept was initially conceived by three gaming fans with the online usernames Phantom7, Falcon8r and Dr.MarioX. Crusade has streamed at all but one of the past four Apex game fighting tournaments. The one exception was in 2015, due to the fact that Nintendo executives were sponsoring and appearing at the festival for the first time and the creators feared copyright conflicts.
