What are the train stations in Monopoly?

The train stations in Monopoly are named after four railroad lines: the Pennsylvania, the B&O, the Reading and the Short Line. The first three are named after real railroads, while the Short Line is fictitious.

The Pennsylvania Railroad served the Northeast and parts of the Midwest. The B&O was a nickname for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad, which ran in much of the same area as the Pennsylvania. The Reading Co. primarily transported coal from mines to Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Parker Brothers patented Monopoly in 1935 after purchasing the rights from Charles Darrow, who sold 5,000 homemade editions of the game before working with the manufacturer.
