How can you clean granite floor tiles?

Granite tiles should be dry-mopped daily with a duster and cleaned occasionally using a mild cleanser that is safe for granite and warm water. A gentle dish soap works as a cleanser for floor and counter top tiles.

It doesn't take much to keep a granite tile floor clean and shiny. Just follow a few basic steps.

1. Clean dust daily
Wipe or mop the granite floor daily with a duster or dry mop to clean up dust and debris. A broom can also be used, but the bristles may scratch the sealant on the tile surface.
2. Wipe spills immediately
Keep an eye out and make sure to wipe up spills as soon as they happen. Do this with a clean, soft rag. If needed, use warm water and a gentle soap to clean the spill.
3. Mop the floor
Use a mild cleanser, such as dish detergent, and water to mop the floor on an occasional basis. Mopping will help remove any built up dirt and also help the floors to shine. Some cleansers leave behind a residue, so a second mopping may be needed with just water to remove.
4. Disinfect as needed
If it necessary to disinfect the tile surface, use a half and half mixture of 91 percent isopropyl alcohol and water. Spray this mixture onto the floor and allow to sit for up to 5 minutes. Rinse with clean water and a dry cloth or mop.
