The horse that holds the most records at the Belmont Park is Secretariat. Secretariat holds two thoroughbred racing records at the track.

On the main dirt track at Belmont Park, Secretariat holds the 1 1/8th-mile record and the 1 1/2-mile record. On September 19, 1973, carrying a weight of 124 lbs., Secretariat set the record for 1 1/8th mile with a time of 1:45.40. On June 9, 1973, during the Belmont Stakes and carrying a weight of 126 lbs., Secretariat set the 1 1/2-mile record with a time of 2:24.00. Secretariat is the only horse to have two records at Belmont Park Race Track.
