By Forinfos - 06/08/2025 - 0 comments
The Caribbean hurricane season follows the traditional Atlantic season, which officially lasts between the start of June and the end of November. The average hurricane season in the Atlantic region typically generates between five to seven hurricane storms with a concentrated peak around September.
Different parts of the Caribbean face different levels of risk in terms of hurricanes, with islands located in the south facing an average annual hurricane risk of just 2.2 percent. Islands in the west of the Caribbean also face much lower hurricane landing risks compared to islands located in the east. Hurricanes can develop in the region during the off-season, but these occurrences are typically rare.
