When does hurricane season end in Florida?
By Forinfos - 14/12/2025 - 0 comments
Hurricane season begins on June 1 and ends on Nov. 30 for Florida and the rest of the Atlantic coast. Hurricanes can form in May and into December, but most tropical activity occurs during the established season.
The season's most active period begins in mid-August and runs through October, though September is usually the busiest month for tropical activity in the Atlantic Basin. About 40 percent of all major U.S. hurricanes strike Florida, and of the category 4 or higher storms that have hit the United States, 83 percent have struck Florida or Texas. To be considered a hurricane, a storm must have winds of 74 mph or higher.
