What does "Internet mobile data" mean?

Internet mobile data refers to the service data allotment for a personal cell phone or tablet, which includes a specific amount of usage time without using Wi-Fi. Each cell phone service provider calculates data services in a different manner.

Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Virgin and other major carriers allow users to choose a certain amount of data for the month, either for an individual or with a shared plan. As of 2014, data allowances typically range from 250MB to 10GB or even unlimited. Things that are covered in a data allowance include email, Internet, YouTube, phone applications or any other service that requires streaming or downloading content from the Internet.
