Who invented the Band-Aid?

The band-aid was invented by Earle Dickson, who was an employee of Johnson & Johnson, and his wife Josephine. His wife was constantly cutting or burning herself and needed to find relief.
Earle Dickson and his wife would cut pieces of adhesive tape and put some cotton on them to make bandages. It took so much time to do this that Earle changed the way they made them. Earle decided to place pieces of cotton gauze along a long strip of tape. He then covered it all with crinoline. Whenever Josephine cut or burned herself, she would only have to cut a length of the bandage and put it on her injury.
