Who invented the hand saw?

The inventor of the hand saw is unknown because hand saws have existed in various forms for thousands of years. Egyptian hieroglyphics have been found depicting ancient woodworkers sawing wood. As of 2014, 24 saws from 18th century England have been preserved.

Hand saws are also known as panel saws and fish saws. They are used to cut pieces of wood into different shapes, and then join said pieces together.
