On which island can you witness a sea of stars?

Vaadhoo Island, which is located in the Maldives, is the site of a bioluminescent event known as the Sea of Stars. Rather than literally being a body of water that is full of stars or even a reflection of the night sky, the glowing points in the Sea of Stars are actually tiny sea creatures known as phytoplankton that naturally give off light.
Known as bioluminescence, this light appears as a bright blue glow, which makes the ocean waters appear to be full of stars. Though Vaadhoo Island's bioluminescent events are particularly dramatic and beautiful to photograph, there are bioluminescent creatures in ocean waters all over the world.
