How do Jewish people pray?

Jewish people pray three times a day in a standing position. Kneeling during prayer is performed during Yom Kippur.

Jewish people do not kneel during prayer because, in the Bible, it was stated that people who indulged in idol worship often did so in a kneeling position. Yom Kippur is considered the holiest day of the year and kneeling during prayer is allowed. On the holy day, a towel is placed on the floor and the person kneels on it to pray.

During prayer, Jewish people recite the Eighteen Benedictions. The benedictions were written by Ezra the Scribe, prophets and sages. Different psalms are also included.
