Jubail is a city found in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. It is considered the largest civil engineering project in the world, as of 2014. The construction of Jubail began in mid-1970s, and it has experienced major developments to become what it is today.
The population of Jubail industrial city is more than 200,000 people. The city is managed by a US construction and engineering company called Bechtel Corporation. It has played a big role in the establishment of residential areas, roads and other major projects. Jubail boasts of more than 20 schools and more than a dozen shopping centers. The Saudi government designated Jubail to be an industrial city in 1975.
