Is a KB bigger than a MB?

A kilobyte is smaller than a megabyte, since one megabyte contains 1,024 kilobytes. In digital storage, 1 kilobyte can hold two to three paragraphs of text, while 1 megabyte holds more than 800 pages of text.
A kilobyte is 1,024 bytes. One byte is 8 bits. A bit is either a 0 or a 1 in the binary system of coding. Larger amounts of information include gigabytes, which are 1,024 megabytes, and terabytes, which are 1,024 gigabytes. Since most operating systems in 2014 can only process a couple of terabytes, most commercially available hard drives in 2014 have maximum capacities measured in terabytes; however, names for larger capacities exist.
