According to Drugs.com, ketoconazole cream is an antifungal cream used to treat fungal infections. However, ketoconazole cream is not used to treat nail fungal infections.

Drugs.com states that ketoconazole cream has an extreme risk factor for liver damage, to the point where a transplant may be needed. Ketoconazole cream should only be used if no other antifungal will work. Nausea, itching, dark urine, tiredness, upper stomach pain and jaundice are possible signs of liver damage. Anyone who experiences them while using ketoconazole cream should see a doctor. Ketoconazole cream should not be used by anyone who is allergic to it or who has prior liver damage.
