What kind of bee burrows in the ground like a hornet?
By Forinfos - 22/03/2026 - 0 comments
Bumble bees and Africanized honey bees occasionally burrow into the ground. The purpose of burrowing is to create nests and lay their young. This behavior is typical of a number of flying insects.
Africanized bees look almost identical to regular honey bees. In fact, the only way to tell the two species apart is to measure the bodies. This type of bee lives in small colonies and nests in a variety of places, including under the ground and in tires, boxes and empty cars. The Africanized honey bee is highly aggressive. Although their venom is no more toxic than that of regular bees, the fact that they attack in large numbers makes them more dangerous.
