The currency used in Jamaica is the Jamaican dollar. The country uses a similar monetary denomination system as the United States, with the values of $1, $5, $10 and $20 coming in coin and $50, $100, $500, $1000 and $5000 coming in the form of bank notes.

Currency markets routinely fluctuate, but as of 2015 one Jamaican dollar is equal to $.008 in U.S. dollars. Inversely, one U.S. dollar is equal to approximately 114 Jamaican dollars. This exchange rate is similar to most major currency markets in the world. Jamaican currency is managed by the Bank of Jamaica, the central bank for the nation.
