Where is Lake Wawasee located?

Lake Wawasee is the largest natural lake in northern Indiana, southeast of Syracuse. Its surface exceeds 3,500 acres, the maximum depth is 72 feet and the shoreline is 25 miles long. It is connected through a channel to Lake Syracuse.

The most common activities at Lake Wawasee are boating, sailing, swimming and water skiing. Fishing spots are available on the main lake and bays but also on the channel waterways around. In 1990, a local fisherman caught and released a 63-pound sturgeon. There are three public golf courses by the lake. The area also hosts winter water activities, as the lake freezes completely over almost every winter.
