How large are full grown shiba inu?

Shiba inu males can grow up to 16.5 inches tall and weigh up to 23 pounds. Females are smaller, at around 15.5 inches tall and 17 pounds in weight.

Shiba inus can live up to 15 years and have few health issues, although they can have knee problems. This is a moderate breed that needs a medium amount of exercise and a moderate amount of grooming and maintenance. They are shy around other animals, but relatively friendly around humans, including strangers. Shiba inus are great watch dogs and are very easy to train. Originally, they were bred for hunting small game.
