As of 2014, the largest football stadium used only for high school games is Allen Eagle Stadium, in Allen, Texas. There are three larger stadiums that high school teams share with non-scholastic teams.
Allen Eagle Stadium opened in 2012 at a cost of $60 million. The stadium seats 18,000 people, and it includes standard seating, corporate boxes and standing-room areas.
In 2014, the stadium was closed due to structural damage. As the concrete shrank, cracks opened in the foundation of the stadium. The stadium was deemed structurally unsound, and it was shut down until architects could determine how to repair the damage.
