Is lens cloudiness normal after cataract surgery?

Adjustments to vision, such as blurry vision, can occur right after cataract surgery, states Mayo Clinic. Vision usually begins to improve a few days following surgery. Patients usually have a follow-up appointment within 24 to 48 hours after cataract surgery and a month later to monitor healing.
After surgery, patients may experience some itching, sensitivity or fluid discharge from the eye, but these symptoms dissipate within a few days, notes the National Eye Institute. Eye drops that are prescribed by eye care doctors may help with some of these symptoms right after surgery. Total healing usually takes place within eight weeks.
