To take the Liberty State Park Ferry to the Statue of Liberty or Ellis Island, park at Liberty State Park, and pay a fee to ride the ferry. The ferry sails daily except for Christmas day, weather permitting, with ferry service beginning at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 4 p.m.
Liberty State Park offers free and paid parking options. Free parking spots are often far from the ferry’s departure point, while paid parking at the docking facility is closer. Paid parking is $5 per car, as of 2015. The fee for riding the ferry is $10 for adult passengers, $8 for adults age 62 and up and children ages 4 to 12, and $4 for children up to age 3. There is no charge for admission to the Statue of Liberty or Ellis Island.
