By Forinfos - 29/03/2026 - 0 comments
People with Tourette syndrome have a normal life expectancy, according to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke. Although there is no cure for the disorder, it often improves when patients reach their late teens or early 20s, and tic symptoms tend to continue to diminish with age.
Tourette syndrome is a neurological disorder that causes repetitive, involuntary vocal actions and movements, called "tics." These tics typically worsen during periods of anxiety or excitement, reports the National Institute or Neurological Disorders and Stroke. Treatment involves the use of prescription neuroleptics to suppress tics that impair functioning. As of 2015, the cause of Tourette Syndrome is unknown.
