The average lifespan of a cricket is two to three months. However, the lifespan of crickets varies across the the large number of different cricket species.
The majority of a cricket's lifespan is spent metamorphosing from an egg to a larva. It eventually becomes an imago, or an adult cricket. On average, a cricket egg will take seven to10 days to mature into a larva. Once in the larva stage, it can take up to five weeks to mature into an imago. After a cricket's last stage of metamorphosis, it lives for approximately one month as a mature, adult cricket.
