How long does it take to go from a 640 credit score to 700?

Forbes reports that improvements to a credit score could take 30 to 60 days. Since a credit score is comprised of multiple variables and is dependent on reports provided by financial institutions, the length of time required to increase the score from 640 to 700 varies for each individual.
If a credit history contains negative items, such as delinquent payments or a bankruptcy, then significant increases in the calculated credit score takes time, according to Experian, one of the three credit reporting bureaus. Delinquencies remain on a credit report for seven years, and a bankruptcy or lien remains for up to 10 years.
