How long are the governor's terms in Oregon?

Governors of Oregon serve terms of four years and can have up to two consecutive terms over the course of any 12-year period. There is no limit to the total number of terms that a governor of Oregon may serve in his lifetime.

As of 2015, the governor of Oregon is Kate Brown, a Democrat. She is the first, and only, openly bisexual state governor in the United States. Her predecessor, John Kitzhaber, served as governor from 1995 to 2003, then again from 2011 until his resignation on Feb. 18, 2015. Oregon's next gubernatorial election is in November of 2016.
