How long does it take to make toasted pecans?

Toasting pecan halves takes about an hour in the oven or five to six minutes on high in the microwave, while toasting pecan pieces takes six to 10 minutes in the oven. How fast the pieces finish baking depends on size and how thick the baking pan is.

To make butter pecan halves, melt about 1/4 cup of butter and combine it with a pound of pecan halves and a tablespoon of seasoned salt, and microwave on high. Alternatively, pour 1/2 cup of melted butter over 3 cups of pecans arranged in one layer on a baking sheet. Bake at 275 degrees Fahrenheit for an hour, and let cool on paper towels.
