How long is the term that members of the House of Representatives serve?

Members in the House of Representatives serve terms of two years at a time. Unlike the Office of the President, there are no limits on the number of terms a representative is permitted to serve.
Each of the 435 members of the House of Representatives runs for one two-year term at a time. If a representative wishes to continue serving in his office, he must run for re-election. Elections occur in even-numbered years, except when a special election is needed due to a vacancy. The other half of the U.S. Congress, the Senate, serves terms of six years at a time.
