Where do macaws live?

Macaws typically live in Central and South America in the rainforest. The largest of all parrots, macaws are listed as endangered because their numbers have been steadily declining due to the destruction of the rainforests.

There are 16 different species of macaws that range in size from 1 foot long to a little over 3 feet long. They have long pointed wings that enable them to fly, and they have very strong feet, which help them to grasp tree branches and other items easily. They can also use their feet to grasp food to bring it to their mouths during feeding.
