What are magnetic badges?

Magnetic badges are name tags or other identification badges that attach to clothing using a magnetic fastener rather than a pin. As of 2015, they are available from retailers such as House of Magnets and Staples.

Though several different shapes and styles are available, most magnetic badges are small enough to fit comfortably on a lapel or on the front of a jacket or shirt. Magnetic badges do not pierce the fabric like pin badges, so they are less likely to damage delicate items of clothing. Most retailers offering magnet badges allow customers to customize the badges with names, company logos and other pertinent information.
