The main religion in Guatemala is Roman Catholicism. Around 65 percent of the population professes that faith. Around 43 percent of the population adheres to a denomination of Protestant Christianity.
Indigenous Mayan religions also command a sizable chunk of the population, with many Protestants and Roman Catholics participating in Mayan rituals. The main Protestant churches are the Full Gospel Church, the Assemblies of God, the Central American Church and the Prince of Peace Church. Other Protestant groups such as Baptists and Mormons have communities in Guatemala, as well. Small groups of Muslims, Buddhists and Jews also live in Guatemala, mostly in the urban areas.
