How many Beanie Babies are there?

There are more than 2,000 different Beanie Babies available to collect as of 2014. The original Beanie Babies, referred to as "first generation," were only nine in number.

Beanie Babies are produced by the toy company TY. New Beanie Babies are still being manufactured, though there are several limited-edition Beanie Babies that were produced for a short time only. These may increase in value over their original price, depending on condition. Rare Beanie Babies include Cubbie the Bear, Pinchers the Lobster, Chocolate the Moose, Squealer the Pig, Splash the Whale, Flash the Whale, Legs the Frog, Spot the Dog and Patti the Platypus, all of which were released in 1993.
