All of the United States are north of the Tropic of Capricorn, including Hawaii. The Tropic of Capricorn is about 23.5 degrees south of the equator.
Not many land masses are found in the Tropic of Capricorn, as it encompasses mostly bodies of water. Some places that are found in the Tropic of Capricorn are central South America, south-central Africa, Madagascar and northern Australia.
The Tropic of Capricorn is one of two tropics that flank the equator. The other is the Tropic of Cancer. Both areas are always warm and lack winters. The sun is directly overhead at noon twice a year.
