A goat has 32 teeth, according to Goat Connection. Eight incisors are on the lower front jaw, while the upper front jaw has a hard dental pad and no teeth. Six molars are on each side of both back jaws.
Cornell University points out that during the first five years of a goat's life, the number of teeth in its mouth provides an estimate of the goat's age. For instance, permanent teeth do not start replacing a young goat's temporary teeth until it is about 1 year old. For older goats, age is estimated by how worn the animal's teeth are. As the years pass, goats gradually loses teeth.
